I've been through it. I'm sure you have too. At a certain point, though, everything gets simple. Life's tough enough: let's make some songs! I've been cranking out a song every Tuesday for a year and half now. I'm done fretting about the muse, done fretting about what I have to say. Enough. Writers write. I believe the results have shown up in this batch of tunes. I sent Chuck a couple dozen, no sweat. And, when he said “I think this record could use such-and-such” I had the confidence to just sit down, bust out a tune, and say “How 'bout this?”
